In 2016 Payes held a major solo exhibition at McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery, Parallel Futures, as the recipient of the MAP14 Prize for sculpture. In  2017, she exhibited a solo exhibition at the Monash Gallery of Art, Melbourne, Australians In PNG.  Selected group exhibitions include, Sculpture By The Sea, Bondi, NSW and Cottesloe, W.A; White Nights Melbourne, Vic; Lorne Sculpture Biennale, Victoria; L’Oreal Fashion Week, Glen Eira City Council Gallery, Melbourne; Fabrik Expo, Los Angeles; London Art Fair, Olympia Exhibition Centre, London; Willow Studios, Los Angeles; BOMA Shipping Container Gallery, Queensland; Queensland Centre for Photography, Brisbane; Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne; Queens Wharf, Auckland; Melbourne Art Fair, Melbourne; ACAF, Hong Kong; Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, Shanghai; John Curtin Access Gallery, Perth; Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, University of Western Australia.
